Ghislain Poirier is the man.
While his contemporaries are busy exploring the darker aspects of electronic music, he dives headstrong into the Trinididian Soca pool, kicks around references to Dancehall, and fearlessly wades through Hip-Hop... all on the same album.
This new release stands in stark contrast to most mainstream efforts, in that it is daring and imaginative, with a full 99% of the sonic madness contrived by Poirier in his quiet Montreal basement.
My track, Go Ballistic got such a crazy response in Montreal's La Tulipe, that it caught me off guard... The mostly French speaking crowd screaming the English chorus damn near brought tears to my eyes...
I said DAMN NEAR....dammit *sniff*
Seriously... there is a really infective vibe throughout this whole album, along with the many nationalities represented........
Omnikrom / A black & white duo that speaks French
Abdominal / A wicked freestyle emcee who is Jewish
Mr. Lee Gee / Jamaican bredda from Brooklyn
Face T / A white guy .. from Westmoreland, Jamaica
Ambitieux / Bad ass French emcee &
DJ Netik / DMC Champion who also comes from France
...and lest I forget...
Myself.. doing my best to represent Panama at every turn, whether you ask me to or not.lol
I am always saying...
Only the comedians and musicians can unite the world.
Everyone else is busy fighting.
